Full Recipe:
- Ingredients:
- 800g pork, cut into steaks
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 3-4 tablespoons cornstarch
- Potatoes, cut into “boats”
- Olive oil
- 1-2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (additional)
- White sesame seeds for garnish
- Directions:
- Prepare the Pork: Make cuts in the pork steaks to prevent them from shrinking. In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Marinate the pork steaks in this mixture for at least 30 minutes. Sprinkle baking powder and cornstarch over the marinated pork steaks and set aside.
- Prepare the Potatoes: Preheat the oven to 180-190°C (356-374°F). Toss the potato boats with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place the potatoes on a baking tray and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden and tender.
- Cook the Pork: Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry the pork steaks for 1-2 minutes on each side until they are browned and slightly crispy. Remove the pork steaks from the pan and set aside.
- Make the Sauce: In the same frying pan, add the minced garlic, ginger powder, honey, and the additional 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Stir to combine. Return the pork steaks to the pan and cook for another 5 minutes while stirring, allowing them to be coated in the sauce.
- Serve: Place the pork steaks on a serving plate and sprinkle with white sesame seeds. Serve with the baked potato boats on the side.
