- 500 ml milk
- 2 eggs
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 80 g mascarpone or Philadelphia cream cheese
- Zest of 1 lemon
For the cake:
- 1 egg
- 120 g sugar
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 320 g flour
- 6 g baking powder
- 140 g butter, softened
Directions:
- For the cream: In a saucepan, whisk together the milk, eggs, cornstarch, and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and stir in the mascarpone or cream cheese and lemon zest. Set aside to cool.
- For the cake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a mixing bowl, beat the egg with the sugar and lemon zest until light and fluffy. Add the flour, baking powder, and butter, and mix until well combined.
