Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
The Ultimate Fusion: Philly Cheesesteak Meets Sloppy Joe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of lean ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. of salt
- 1 tbsp. of cornstarch
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 1/4 cup of A.1. Sauce
- 1 tsp. of steak seasoning
- Provolone cheese, sliced
- Hamburger buns or sliders
Directions:
- In a frying pan, cook the ground beef, green pepper, onion, and salt until the beef is no longer pink. Drain the excess fat.
- Stir in the cornstarch until the meat is coated. Add the beef broth, A.1. sauce, and steak seasoning. Mix well and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The mixture will thicken as it simmers.
- While the meat simmers, butter the buns and place them on a cookie sheet. Broil briefly, watching closely to avoid burning.
- Spoon the meat mixture onto the bottom buns. Place a slice of provolone cheese on the top buns and broil briefly to melt the cheese.
- Assemble the sandwiches by placing the top bun with melted cheese over the bottom bun with meat.
