Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes

The Ultimate Fusion: Philly Cheesesteak Meets Sloppy Joe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of lean ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. of salt
  • 1 tbsp. of cornstarch
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • 1/4 cup of A.1. Sauce
  • 1 tsp. of steak seasoning
  • Provolone cheese, sliced
  • Hamburger buns or sliders

Directions:

  1. In a frying pan, cook the ground beef, green pepper, onion, and salt until the beef is no longer pink. Drain the excess fat.
  2. Stir in the cornstarch until the meat is coated. Add the beef broth, A.1. sauce, and steak seasoning. Mix well and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The mixture will thicken as it simmers.
  4. While the meat simmers, butter the buns and place them on a cookie sheet. Broil briefly, watching closely to avoid burning.
  5. Spoon the meat mixture onto the bottom buns. Place a slice of provolone cheese on the top buns and broil briefly to melt the cheese.
  6. Assemble the sandwiches by placing the top bun with melted cheese over the bottom bun with meat.
